Stories: Sellen Construction

Giving back to the community

Driven by the belief that you should make a difference in your community, Sellen Construction encourages employees to volunteer and give to the community in which they live. And the company itself leads by example by supporting organizations that are doing good in our community – organizations like Swedish.

For 38 years, Sellen has philanthropically supported Swedish’s mission to advance the health and well-being of our community. Over the years, Sellen has generously donated to two noteworthy projects including the True Family Women's Cancer Center at the Swedish Cancer Institute and the Center for Perinatal Bonding and Support, an intensive outpatient program for pregnant and postpartum women with perinatal mood and anxiety disorders.

“Sellen and Swedish have a partnership spanning more than 60 years. We are honored to support the Swedish mission to improve the health and well-being of each person you serve because to us, it’s not about the spaces we build together, but the amazing, life changing work you do within them," says Scott Redman, president of Sellen Construction.

Sellen’s contributions are especially noteworthy for their impact on patient care in our community. Both the True Center and the Center for Perinatal Bonding and Support are unique to our region, providing an important resource and support system to women and babies during life-changing life stages. Sellen's leadership on these two new programs and willingness to take risks continues to advance our mission to improve the health and well-being of our community and we are continually grateful for Sellen's partnership.
