Swedish Organ Transplant and Liver Center

With the recent expansion of the clinic and with donations from the community, the Organ Transplant and Liver Center is growing its research capabilities through the Swedish Liver Care Network. Conducting both clinical trials and laboratory studies, we are moving our findings from the bench to the bedside, giving our patients access to alternative therapies for kidney, liver, and pancreas diseases and organ transplantation.

Organ Transplant Patient Assistance Fund: Ensuring patients never have to choose between medical care and rent
The care and treatment of patients requiring an organ transplant can be lengthy and expensive. This stressful time can bring the added burden of paying for extensive medical treatment or travel expenses to come to Swedish for our targeted, expert care.
Our clinic has a team of counselors that can help ease the financial stressors many patients face. Thanks to our generous donors, the Swedish Organ Transplant Fund helps to ensure patients are not forced to choose between paying for their medical care and keeping their household running. Donations help patients cover non-medical expenses such as rent, child care, insurance, utility bills, and other basic life expenses to make sure life at home remains as normal and stable as possible while the patient focuses on getting the care they need.
Liver Research Fund: Advancing innovative research and organ transplant

A major focus of our Swedish Organ Care Research program is the study of liver diseases including nonalcoholic fatty liver disease, nonalcoholic steatohepatitis, cholestatic liver disease and hepatitis. We are also conducting ongoing studies in the immunosuppressive agents and approaches in kidney transplantation and liver failure therapies. Our team is also developing registries and repositories to archive tissue samples and clinical data to enhance research into the diagnosis and treatment of diseases affecting the kidney, pancreas and liver.
