As a nonprofit organization, Swedish relies heavily on community partnerships and the support of those who believe in our nonprofit mission of providing the very best care to every person we serve — regardless of their ability to pay. A crucial part of serving our mission is Swedish's charity care program. We are committed to providing charity care to all who need it.
Offers free or discounted hospital services for those who cannot afford care, many of whom are underinsured of have no insurance at all. Provides financial assistance in cases where the yearly family income is between 0% and 350% of the federal poverty level. Ensures that financial constraints are not a barrier to the provision of care.
This newly renovated clinic provides specialty medical care to low-income and uninsured patients. The clinic is now located in the Heath Building on the Ninth Floor.
One of the unique features of the clinic is the physicians who volunteer their time to treat patients who have a variety of specialty care needs.
The Community Specialty Care clinic offers a wide variety of services within the clinic:
- Hand surgery
- General surgery
The clinic also refers patients for services that can be performed off-site in the volunteer specialist’s clinic office:
- Occupational and physical therapy
Volunteers in the clinic also help assist patients with finding their way around the hospital, helping patients make their doctor appointments, providing follow-up case management services for the patients, and other helpful services.
